EAT FOR HUNGER, NOT EMOTION
(Weight Management)
Objective: Empower the customer to understand the various psychological and
emotional uses for food in our society and in their own personal environment.
Scope of Class: We start with an explanation of emotional eating and how it
affects both men and women, including identification of the most common
triggers. Customers learn to identify their emotional eating triggers and eating
patterns. We discuss how we use food for reasons other than to
satisfy physical hunger. Customers learn various techniques to help them eat for hunger, not
emotion such as mindful eating vs mindless eating, an emotional eating awareness
plan, and ordered eating. The class closes with knowledge on a simple change
process and how to keep a journal to document progress in lifestyle change.
